Have we gone too far?

    Perhaps I am old fashioned, but I really think dogs that it is unkind to keep dogs alive when they are severely disabled. There seems to be something of a 'life at any price' culture developing when it comes to pets.

    I noticed this today labrador with two legs

    I think it is very sad that no-one had the courage to do the right thing by this dog and put it gently to sleep at birth. Just because we can keep an animal alive, does not mean we should.

    I suspect most deformed puppies are put down at birth - it's so rare to see, the numbers can't be reflecting the birth rates.

    Interestingly that particular deformity in people is often due to mum taking the wrong medicines while pregnant. Owner not consulting with vet before breeding, maybe....?

    No you are not old fashioned just re-alistic, to be honest that article sickens me. However we live in a world of do gooders - no wonder we are in such a mess!!
