Hi anybody use happy dog food ? I am confused by the feeding ? Izzy is 12 weeks and is 9.5kg how much should I be feeding her thanks.
Re: Anybody use happy dog food ? Looks like 260g (10kg by 12 weeks). But just make sure she doesn't put weight on, I feed 60% of what it says on the packet - I think dogs vary in what they need depending on how well they "do", activity level etc.
Re: Anybody use happy dog food ? Sorry,no Clare. I guess you are confused by the feeding table on the packet? It stumped me as an owner getting to grips with feeding my first dog correctly. Every brand is different so the quantities will vary ....but whatever the quantity I was feeding I fed it over 3 meals until Dexter was 6 months. You've just posted the label while I was typing ;D Based on that table I'd be feeding 250g over 3 meals ( I always err on the side of meanness ) remember to make an adjustment if you are using food as training treats....I overcame this by deducting 50-70 g out of the daily allowance...if we didn't get through it all it was added to his dinner at then end of the day x
Re: Anybody use happy dog food ? Why as they get older do you feed them less ?? I have just read that as a puppy the should roughly weigh 2lb for every week of their life have heard this before ?
Re: Anybody use happy dog food ? They need more because they are growing. It is the same for human babies - relatively speaking, per lb or kg, young need less as they get older.
Re: Anybody use happy dog food ? They need more food when they are younger as this is when they grow the most I use about 80% of the recommended amount daily it is very confusing, but keep an eye on Izzy's weight and adjust as you feel necessary
