On Saturday I went to Crufts for the first time. My friend had entered a couple of classes in the game keeper's ring and it was lovely seeing her win a first in one of the classes with her lovely and very talented working Clumber spaniel! I must admit the world of showing is all a bit alien to me and the constant grooming not just on the benches but also in the ring by some of the handlers was a little bemusing. ??? Anyway today I was back in my comfort zone at the Westcountry Game fair. Alice loved her moment in the spot light in the gundog parade. Even though she looks nothing like the show springers I saw at Crufts yesterday I wonder if she is a little show bunny at heart, she certainly was running around the ring like a pro? Afterwards we did the scurries which Alice and Caddie, my other springer, really enjoyed. I also ran Caddie in the BASC working test and she won 3rd place! ;D So all in all a really good day despite the arctic temperatures and the sleet and snow. I think the dogs and I will sleep well tonight.
Re: Busy Weekend Well done to you and your dogs. I am definitely going to Crufts next year to watch all the beautiful dogs and for the exhibitors showing all their doggie products. Sounds like lots of fun for the family.
Re: Busy Weekend Gosh that does sound like a busy weekend Heidrun! Congratulation on your successes!!
