It's been snowing overnight here on the Surrey, Sussex, Kent borders and the wind has drifted the snow against the hedges and in the hollows. Well Lady thought this was great! Butt tucking all over and great fun leaping through the drifts. She also discovered a deep hollow and disappeared completely with just the end of her nose showing. She thought that was a huge hoot and charged off at a great rate. Hope she hasn't done any damage to her recovering elbows but she's in week 6 of recovery now and seems as fit as a flee. She's just had a big breakfast and is sitting next to me guarding the house against anyone who dares come into the street.
Re: Snow! Snowing again here too David. I have really had enough of it now. Our first snow was in October, for goodness sake!! It's been a long, cold, dark winter. I am ready for spring.
Re: Snow! Snowing here is Hampshire too, but the most amazing thing is the wind, huge gusts with much 'howling' - when you open the door it feels a bit like you are stepping out of an arctic research station! I'm expecting polar bears to wander through the village at any moment
Re: Snow! Snow is better than MUD Though I realise that snow soon becomes mud! I am sick to death of MUD and having to clean the dogs up every time they have a walk. Stacia
Re: Snow! We had a day of blizzards yesterday, but this morning glorious sunshine on eight inches of snow! Poppy and her two labrador friends Paulina and Caddie played like mad things on our walk this morning... They do love snow, and you are so right Stacia, it is MUCH better than mud! Still - come on spring, shake yourself and get going now!
Re: Snow! I wish we got snow here in Texas! We got a tiny bit over Christmas and my six year old, Jasmine, didn't know what to think of it.
Re: Snow! Snow here is usually pretty lame and turns to slush within a few days. I would love some of your Texas sunshine (but maybe not the Tornados! )
Re: Snow! Oh I'm from East Texas, so we don't really get tornadoes. I've lived here for 23 years and have never seen one. The sunshine is pretty nice though. It just gets really humid over here. That's one of the reasons our dogs stay inside. I hate to see dogs live outside in the summer in Texas. It's hot enough to cause heat stroke.
Re: Snow! Ok, I see you ARE from the USA! Welcome - and you can have some of my snow, if you want. We had ANOTHER six inches of snow on Sunday, and I sincerely hope I shoveled the drive and pavement free for the very last time this winter!!! We want Texan sun!!!
Re: Snow! I'm in Australia and it is actually quite cold where I am at the moment, so I would like some Texan sun as well please
Re: Snow! sun would be lovely. no real snow here (Hertfordshire) but so wet, which means lots and lots of mud.
Re: Snow! Today was actually rare-we had nice weather. Our weather is kinda bipolar, so we can have freezing temperatures in the morning and it be in the 80s by the afternoon. I've seen sunshine and thunderstorm in the same day. I would love to see Australia! My aunt and uncle just moved back from there. I think my uncle was working in the oil fields or something. Not totally sure.
