Just got a clean bill of health from the vet. But when we mentioned puppy like to chase her tail the vet brushed us off and said that labs don't do that. It was more of a spaniel thing. Well.. Got me thinking. How many other lab pups chase their tail? Common for labs or not? Anything to worry or curb the behavior?? Also.. Took her swimming first time yesterday!!!! After a while she swam out by herself a short distance to me. Good stuff!!!
Re: Tail chasing? My last dim-but-lovely choccie Lab chased his tail regularly into old age - always gave us a laugh, as it was obviously for fun, when he caught sight of it, not because it was itching or hurting.
Re: Tail chasing? We occasionally have a little tail chasing as a pup, but not a frequent occurrence (unless it was with the use of a toilet roll tube ) Good start on the swimming!
Re: Tail chasing? Great news on the swimming Dan Sam sometimes chased his tail as a puppy but grew out of it at about six months old .
Re: Tail chasing? Charlie chased his tail as a young pup. Did it recently too, but he had an itchy bum (now sorted).

Re: Tail chasing? Nero does this all the time...He usually does it so much that it makes him dizzy and then he falls over! so funny to watch!
Re: Tail chasing? She doesn't do it now (too old probably ) but she used to as a pup. She looked like she thoroughly enjoyed it. Gave us a laugh.

Re: Tail chasing? Haley chases her tail sometimes haha My Boyfriend's Cousin has a lab...she will go round and round chasing her tail for a good 15 minutes! haha she has always been like that
