I actually had an apology from Sid's owner for his attack on Hattie, I bumped into her today with Sid safely barking in the car thank goodness. I told her I had booted and hit him she said she would have done the same, but she still thinks it's because he doesn't know Hattie, hmm well enough to attack her twice  I told her I wasn't happy at all but I really don't think she takes his behaviour seriously. The worst thing is she has moved about 10 miles away and still comes to our village to walk because there are too many dogs where she lives and she can't trust him - great :( :(

Still better late than never!! xx

My heart sank when I saw this thread come up again Helen...thank goodness it wasn't a repeat performance of the attack.....I think Sid and his owner is a dog you will always need to keep watch out for :(

I'm always amazed at the attitude of some owners but at least she apologised. She obviously knows he has issues with other dogs if she brings him to a quieter area to walk so I don't think the excuse he doesn't know Hattie quite works. :-\

Maybe if the opportunity arises you could suggest you walk together with the dogs on lead so he can get to know her in a controlled situation. Im not sure it would help but it can't hurt as long as she has control of him on a lead. ???

Thanks Angela and Jen, I have offered to walk with her and Sid even after the second attack but she just shruggs her shoulders so she's not interested so I won't be offering again. She doesn't get it, she said "I think Sid's like this because he was attacked when he was younger" but when I stressed how worried I was about Hattie after two attacks she just said "Oh she's a lovely dog she will be OK"

I will certainly be keeping a lookout for her and if anything happens ever again I will ring the Dog Warden.
