Mira loves her squeaky kong balls more than anything in the world and sometimes it can be a challenge to get her to drop it when she retrieves them! We have tried all sorts with limited success. Yesterday we were playing in the garden with her, she had the ball in her mouth & DH, for some random reason, gave her the hand signal to lie down (which we have used successfully since she was tiny). She didn't lie down, she dropped the ball! He threw it again, she brought it back, he gave the signal, she dropped the ball again - no hesitation! We have no idea what triggered this, but it worked again later in the day, and I have used it at several play sessions today with total success. It's quite bizarre, but here's hoping it continues!
Re: Accidental success! Hey, whatever works ;D Looks like you'll have to find a new 'down' signal Love it.
Re: Accidental success! Well, so far she still seems happy to lie down on cue when she doesn't have the ball. In fact, when I signal and she drops the ball, if I maintain the signal she will then lie down. It's the strangest thing!
Re: Accidental success! It seems to suit her doing that bless her. Sounds like you'll have to find something else for lie down.
