Just off to Fitzpatrick shortly for Lady's 6 week review after her elbow ops. Hoping she'll be pronounced fit. Fingers crossed! Wish us luck please. ;D
Re: Lady - 6 week check up Thanks - all the good luck wishes worked. She's fine. Just work up the walks 15 minutes a week for the next 3 weeks and give her lots oh exercises that will flex her elbows like jumping over poles and things like that. I have to give her a bit of physio on her right elbow as well to get it flexing properly again as it's a bit stiff compared to the left which is perfect. After 3 weeks if all ok I can consider her fit again. ;D
Re: Lady - 6 week check up Oh brilliant David, so very pleased to hear that! She'll be back to full-speed retrieving in no time!
Re: Lady - 6 week check up Just got back from walking her and we did a bit of blind retreiving in the field. She really perked up when we started doing that. She's a simple soul really and has missed doing that sort of stuff over the last few weeks. The stop has gone to pot but when I did get her to look back she still responded ok to hand signals so training not completely gone down the drain. Her tail received a LOT of wagging exercise! ;D
Re: Lady - 6 week check up Wonderful news so pleased for you both. There'll be no stopping the dynamic duo now!! ;D
Re: Lady - 6 week check up I'm so thrilled that Lady is well on her way to being her old self. Well done you for being such a good nurse. Helen x
Re: Lady - 6 week check up Not sure about the good nurse bit! ;D Did her physio this morning. She is funny - let me manipulate her leg with ears back looking pathetic then held it up for some more. She was resisting a bit at the vets yesterday that made it seem like it was stiff but she certaily had full articulation this morning so fingers crossed she was just a bit tense yesterday. She met her friend Rory the Golden Retriever puppy this morning. First time she's been allowed to play with him off the lead for the past 6 weeks. She wasn't too keen on him anymore! Too boistrous I think.
