My friend, Sue and I have been planning to get a lab each for at least five years. We were waiting for her to retire (I am semi-retired, I just work one and a half days) We were going to get litter mates but my hubby was going away for 10 weeks last summer and I didn't want to do the baby puppy bit on my own. So we got ours 4 weeks earlier. Both were born in April, Tatze at the beginning and Zaba at the end. The idea was to look after each others dogs for holidays. So Zaba is here for two weeks while Sue is in Croatia with her husband. Zaba is a lovely, laid back boy. Tatze is a fiesty, cheeky young lady! (She is on the right) He was very settled last night, happily snoozing the evening away with Tatze. Both went to bed really well (separate crates, separate rooms) He woke up too early but I hope that was just because he woke up and found himself not at home. I'm loving having two! **broody broody!**

Re: Tatze and Zaba They look great. I know you see a fair bit of your friend, but do the dogs get on really well together?
Re: Tatze and Zaba Both beautiful dogs and what a great idea to be able to help each other out like that. I suppose it's also helpful to get Tatze used to another dog staying in her house as preparation for the guide dog puppy.

Tatze runs to the door if I say his name. They play a bit too much sometimes, but I have taught her 'enough' (she's always the one who starts it) and she is now good at settling down with him in the room. I taught her by using dried tripe. I say 'enough' and bring out the tripe. It works a treat - they settle now even without the tripe
