Encouraged by her enthusiasm retrieving again after 6 weeks enforced boredom I thought I'd try a two dummy exercise.Placed the dummies and made her sit. So far so good. Sent her off after the first one - success. Sent her after the one withe the pheasant skin on it. Hmmm! Off she went home with it. Doh! Back to basics then. ;D

I was telling my farmer friend about this on our walk this morning. I use his long field for training and she picks up on his shoot. He laughed like a drain! Lovely time in his yard though. The first lambs are here!

Did you buy that pheasant skin, David? I have seen them, thinking how expensive they are.

Yes but it wasn't expensive as far as I remember. Bought it from a company in Cornwall last year but can't recall the name now. It came complete with a dummy.

David, was it Mole Valley Farmers ? They have branches throughout Cornwall and sell lots of gundogery items , we bought Sams dummy from the one near to us :)
