I think I've got it sorted! I had no car today so had to walk to the park with Zaba and Tatze on the lead, it's a ten minute walk. We usually go to the res or the lake or the woods, where leads are hardly needed. We did it!! - zero pulling - hurrah!! Followed by a lovely off-lead hoolie round the park. Of course, no training was required on the way back, both exhaused! Zaba has always been a bit of a puller, but I can't stand it as I have sore hands with arthritis. So this is what we did - I used one lead that splits in two, with the loop at the end on my left hand, one dog each side - me holding the bits that divide, so dogs were both on short lengths. Two treats in right hand. Lots of praise for Zaba for walking on a loose lead and treats for both when we've done 10 metres. Repeat. It worked - woooohoooo! I really was dreading this morning's walk, but I feel elated now! (note to self, show Zaba's Mum when she gets back from holiday - but don't show off too much!)
Re: Lead walking with two Well done Mags, lovely photo too I cant use a split lead as I have one very big dog and one very small, but they have learned to walk side by side using just one hand for the leads and as you say , walking home from a romp is always easier
Re: Lead walking with two That is brilliant !well done ,save your modesty for Zaba's mum when you discreetly train her it is absolutely fine to share a 'Boast Post' with us here .whoop, whoop well done ,glad you had a lovely walk x
Re: Lead walking with two Funny but I was thinking about one of those when we have our "visitor" in the summer. Hmmm......

[/quote] I had it from when I used to walk my two cavaliers, it's a good one, but I was given it, so not sure where they are from.
Re: Lead walking with two Well done mags. It does take practise. I tried walking my two with one of those split lead things when they were pups. I gave up they both kept going in different directions. : Scott always walks on my left. Scout always walks on Scott's right so either between me and Scott or on my right. I walk the three rescue dogs together when my auntie is out and I've got them all. Due to their being potatoes on the big field I have to have them on leads. One big dog, two small on extendable leads is quite a skill to master. :. I'm pleased to say I'm doing quite well. We only maypole dance occasionally when pip shoots under the other two after a scent. :

Re: Lead walking with two We are still working on nice lead walking with puzzle. She pulls like a train when walking with barley or dad so it is a work in progress. (more training dad than the dog to be consistent and stop every time she pulls, not some of the time)
