I was talking to a girl on Sunday about how fussy Scout is with her food (royal canin maxi puppy kibble) the girls firstly said get her off Royal Canin like many of you's have, I told her how nervous I was about the change over because of what happened last time. She asked if I had ever considered Raw food? I told her I had looked into it but that I don't think I could do it, just the thought makes me pull a face. She said what about this then- and she shows me this like tray of food called NatureDiet. She told me it's like a minced/crushed raw food what she uses and how her dogs love it, 65% meat it also has veg carrots etc and the only real let down is the rice but as percentages go it's not that bad. I might have been told about it before on here or on the few Facebook labrador pages I'm on but iv just been so overwhelmed with all this dog food stuff, reading reviews and looking at different comparison site and I was kinda adamant I was going to keep her on kibble... BUT... Anyway she is loving it, she started Sunday and iv just been giving her a quarter of a tray with her normal food and over the next two weeks I will get rid of the kibble and replace it with something else. I do like the idea of kibble to help keep her teeth clean. She is already filling out, her sunken sides are all but gone and she is just so much happier. Just watching her wag her tail as she is eating is amazing and something I haven't seen with her, she licks her food bowl around the kitchen it truly is a site to beholed. Ohh and her poos are good, no signs of looseness at all. I'm awa the moon!!!!! And so is Scout ;D
Re: I actually have good news to share :0) That's great!!!! So glad you have found something she really enjoys
Re: I actually have good news to share :0) Oh that's lovely to hear!! Keep the changeover slow and I'm sure you won't have any problems! Good luck!!
Re: I actually have good news to share :0) That's great. I gave NatureDiet to my old lab after he'd had vestibular syndrome which can put them off chewing. He loved it. He'd always been a fussy eater and not that keen on wet food but loved that particularly the white fish and potatoe. Glad you've found something that helps.
