Cooper is a 14 week old male.....handsome chap, and a handful...when it rains he does NOT like to go out and pee so he does it indoors on our tile floors! Labs love water, right, but not rain???? Is mine an unusual lab? Also, when I take him out for a walk and it's raining he will lie on the grass so why can't he pee wherever when it rains????
Re: Peeing when it is raining Do you go out with him into the garden when it's raining? We had to do that to get our pup out when that funny wet stuff was falling from the sky and she wasn't so sure. Good excuse for new wellies and rain coat. Seeing us out there brought her out quicker each time and now there's the joy of the towel dry to look forward to. Now she happily trots out herself for a quick pee and back in for the towel.
Re: Peeing when it is raining I'm pretty sure that at 14weeks I was still going out with Molly and also not relying on her to let me know when she wanted a wee but taking her out every hour during the day. I expect he'll be keener to go out if you're with him but if not you could put him on a lead. Years ago I had a cocker spaniel who hated the rain - and had amazing bladder control!
Re: Peeing when it is raining Hi Yvonne, he is completely normal. Many pups regress in housetraining when the weather takes a turn for the worse. It's annoying, but as others have said, you'll need to grab your hat and go out with him.
