Hello everyone I am new to labs. My parents and I have raised cocker spaniels for about 15 years. I decided to get a lab due to the experience I've had with my aunt and uncles lab. She was a yellow lab very good dog, my uncle got her for a farm dog but in the end with most of my doing she was a farm dog wile he was out side the home but a well behaved house dog at night. I just recently purchased a red lab as a puppy at 6 weeks old. Her name is Roxie. She is a very good puppy and loves to play and cuddle with my 5 year old. I am very excited to get her house broke and make her a well behaved pup and gradually turn her into an upland gun-dog. Thank you for accept to the forum, this will give me a jump on everything I need.
Re: Hello from Tim and Roxie Hi and welcome from me Helen, Hattie 6 years and Charlie 3 years. I love the name Roxie Have fun on the forum and I hope you have fun with your new pup x

Re: Hello from Tim and Roxie Hi Redlab07, I just wanted to bring your attention to the policy we have on this site which is not to provide advice on the care of puppies that have been sold before the age of 7 weeks. You can read the underage puppy policy statement here: http://www.thelabradorforum.com/index.php?topic=5857.0 That thread contains a link to this article which describes the reasoning behind the policy: http://www.thelabradorsite.com/too-young-to-leave-mum/ I know that your puppy is now 7 weeks old. I am sure you are giving her the best of care. I also do not mean to put you off participating in and enjoying this site. But I wanted to bring your attention to the fact that, for a puppy's wellbeing and development, 8 weeks is the appropriate age to bring a puppy home and not before.
Re: Hello from Tim and Roxie Hello and welcome to the forum. What part of the world are you in, if you don't mind me asking? And what is an upland gun dog? Enjoy the forum
Re: Hello from Tim and Roxie Welcome to the forum! I also have a red fox lab who is now 18 months old, called Penny.
Re: Hello from Tim and Roxie Hello and welcome. I am sure you love Roxie very much and only want the best for her. I hope that, despite the breeder having passed her on at an age where for optimal development she should have been with her siblings and mother for another two weeks, that she continues to do so well with your family.
Re: Hello from Tim and Roxie Hi Tim, just wanted to welcome you and Roxie to the forum. I hope you find some useful information and support on here. Several members (mostly but not exclusively outside of the UK) have been sold very young pups, and I am sure if you have read the info from Rachael (Oberon) you will understand why we have had to bring this to your attention. I do hope you are having fun with your pup though! Stick with us, Jac and Lilly (4 year old black girl)
