Home again. Poor pumpkin...he's resting on his cool spot over the AC vent. :( He has 2 biopsy sites for the skin lesions. We're to keep those clean and dry...(he's not going to like that) for 10 days. I'll take the stitches out then as we'll be on vacation. Supposed to try to keep him somewhat quiet for the next 2 days, but he was already leaping like a maniac when he got home and caught site of his food bowl! Vet will call when biopsy results are back in around 5-7 days. Now just to spoil him more rotten, if that's even possible, and try to keep him out of all bodies of water. Looks like a long lead for his outdoor time for a bit. :(

Edsel says he has a bad boo boo!

Aw, poor little man... Don't worry, Edsel, it will all grow back and in the meantime your Mummy says that lots of spoiling is in your immediate future :)

Ah it does grow back after a little while,Dexter has had a head shave for some bumps that we eventually identified as the result of him sticking his head in a prickly bush ::)
Hope Edsel feels better soon, they can do a good 'down in the dumps face 'these labs of ours x
Wish we had ac vents in the floor, that, would be brilliant for cooling Dexter down ,Edsels a clever boy picking that spot to lie x

Hey Edsel - make the most of all the sympathy - you'll never have a better time to demand treats!

Hi Lori, my Murphy is nearly 6 months old and my vet had suggested he get neutered around about now. Can I ask if there was any specific reason you got Edsel neutered so young? I'm undecided at the moment, I had it in my mind I would do it when he was 6 months but now the time is here I'm questioning why :(

Hope all went well and he's fully recovered. He looked sorry for himself in the photo you posted.

    Hi Karen.
I'm happy to share. We had planned to wait til Edsel was older as well. Preferably 6 months or more. But he has developed a skin condition that hasn't responded to treatment and the vet felt he needed to biopsy for diagnosis. So we decided we didn't want to put him through more sessions of general anesthesia than necessary and decided to do the neutering and microchip at the same time. I really wish we could have waited but hoping no ill effects from it.
As to his recovery...someone forgot to tell him he had surgery! He didn't miss a beat. Still has sutures from the biopsy sites and waiting on those results. But at this moment he's busily digging a hole under my apple tree trying to fit his entire head down some critters home!

Let me know what you decide for Murphy!

    Lori
