This time last year , I was cleaning madly, even washing the sitting room curtains for heavens sake :And all because Millie was being brought over from the rescue home in Newquay for a home check and to stay if all went well . I felt sick , and unlike me, a bag of nerves which, thinking logically, was ridiculous ,we have a lovely large secure garden and walks for the world on our doorstep All went well , and so a year ago today , Miss Millie came to stay with us for good . She has, on the whole, been a star , loving the training she lacked, soaking it all up for praise and love . Like most rescues, she did come with baggage but slowly and surely, she overcame most of her issues, has made a lovely little dog and a grand pal for Sam . I am very proud of Millie , this little former stray who was no longer wanted and so was dumped like a piece of rubbish , a character for sure, hard work at times, but so very very worth it all . We have no idea when she was born , she is no spring chicken but we call this day her birthday x
