When you say the bandage has fallen off - do you mean just in the house, or outside? That is, are you looking for a solution to keep the bandage on (at all) or while walking outside in the wet? (If it is still wet where you are - it is here).

I'd give the vet a ring debs, they might want to re-bandage it

No new bandage required, yey! Amazing how quickly the wound has healed, as long I keep it dry and she doesn't chew at it she should be ok. Thanks for all your comments.

Good news. Must be annoying to try keep a bandage on a young labrador!

Spoke too soon! The wound is now bleeding, darn it! Back to the vets for the dreaded bandage, if we have to have a kone, I don't know what we will do as she sleeps in her crate at night and it won't fit in!

Our vet put a bandage on which didn't come off and I had to cut the top half off as it became so wet! I didn't have to use a cone and in fact have never had to use a cone despite spays, castration, broken elbow with screw and pins etc. Have I just been lucky or has my vet never offered me one ;D

Hi Debs poor Maisie. Bandages on feet are a pain. In the wet I put an old sock over the bandage, get a length of cling film long enough to come down the back of the bandage over the foot then back up the front. I think I have it about 6 layers thick. Mould it around the leg and foot use a bit of micro pore to hold it, another old sock over that tied with a bit of bandage then if possible a thick pastic bag. If the inside sock is dry you know the bandage is. You can reuse the cling film if dry.

This is probably a bit late but watch how they bandage her foot. It's not as hard as you think. That's what I did. It's was so difficult to keep dry and sometimes came loose so I did it myself. You can buy sports bandage which is elastic, sticks to itself and can be reused for the outer layer, dressing pad, cotton wool and ordinary bandage for inside. Murphy cut his foot one evening. I cleaned and bandaged it so he didn't bleed everywhere. The vet when I took him the next day was very impressed I'd done it myself. ::)
