I'm a keen runner and have started taking my labrador out with me. I've noticed that she starts slacking after about 2 miles and was wondering if running is too much for her or if she'll get better at it? She almost 7 years old.

Sorry - I misread your post as your dog was 7 months old (so removed my reply about puppies :) :) :) ).

Hi Chris, how often and how far do you run? What kind of surfaces are you running on? Have you built up her fitness levels gradually? Or is this a fairly new thing for her?

In general terms, it is probably a good idea to have your dog checked over by the vet now, and again every six months or so if you are running her quite hard. Especially if she is showing signs of stiffness after a run. I'm sure you will be aware that heat will be a factor at this time of the year.
