Just back from the vet after having the dreaded hip and elbow x-rays done... Vet says it all looks good, hooray hooray!!! Very pleased. Will know the exact results later, but am just thrilled to be able to report all looks good for now.

Poor baby very droopy and a bit sad after the anesthetic. But I know she'll be leaping around enthusiastically again tomorrow!

Hi Karen, welcome home. Hope Poppy is OK. I thought that was only ever done as a puppy and only once, I truly learn something new every day - wonderful. Helen x :)

No, nothing wrong David, it's just normal here to have dogs that are in training hip scored - particularly if you are thinking of breeding at any time. Helen, it is just done once, but at about a year or so old, once the joints are solid but before they have time to get worn down.

    Am just very pleased... :)

Fingers crossed for a good score. :)
My Clumber spaniel is hip and elbow scored because he is being used as a stud dog. His elbow score is 0 and his hip score is 3:4 which is very good for a Clumber. This breed in general still has an average score somewhere in the mid 20's.

That's great news! :D We had Obi's hips done too (as he was a re-homed dog), and I was so stressed about it. But he got a very good result also - it's a relief.
