My 11 week old labrador puppy had diarrhoea 10 days back after which he recieved levofloxacin and metronodazole by vet. Now we noticed for past 4-5days he was unable to walk and has hind leg weekness. Called vet and he was given steroid shot injectable antibiotic and some neurotropic vitamins. But he is unable to take stairs and feels sleepy. Appetite is normal rightnow. But whenever i give him pedigree puppy to eat he gets diarrhoea He is only eating bread and milk. Legumes vegetables he refuse to eat. Has anyone else suffured this problem?
I haven't experienced this problem but reading your post I am concerned about what he is eating. Pedigree Puppy does give some dogs diarrhoea, is there no other dog food you can try him with? Bread and milk is just not enough nutrients for a growing pup and vegetable don't give sufficient nutrition either on their own. The diet the puppy is having could explain the weakness in his back legs. I think you need to take him back to the vet and have him checked out to make sure there is nothing wrong with his hind legs. Also look out for a food specifically for dogs.
Hi i think maybe try your puppy on a different puppy food, how about a dry kibble, these can be reasonably priced and have all the nutrients your puppy needs for his growing. Introduce slowly so gentle on his tum. I've heard before that pedigree can cause diarrhoea and maybe the bread and milk is upsetting him too I hope he is better really soon
