Our dog Flo started some strange behaviour when she had her first season at 12 months. In the evening she would chase her tail as if she was trying to reach the base. She would go crazy biting her legs, and crying. It would last for 30 mins or so. I thought it was her season causing it but eventually took to vets who emptied her anal glands. She has started doing it again but vet said anal glands not full. I feel she could be heading towards a phantom pregnancy but surely the behaviour can’t be related could it? Every evening she does the same and very occasionally during the day. I feel so sorry for her - it obviously drives her crazy and she looks very bewildered. Sorry it’s a long post but has anyone any ideas before I take her back to the vets?
