We have a 15 month old lab bitch called Luna and last week brought Magic, our 10 week old lab dog home. They're getting on like a house on fire (both fast asleep by my feet at the minute) and they play well together too. The problem is Luna getting too over excited by Magic and not calming down either once he has had enough or we tell her to leave him. At this point she will repeatedly bounce at him in an attempt to carry on the play, her eyes are wide and she is panting. I don't want her getting to this stage of over arousal as it must be unsettling for her but how can I help her learn to come down from such a height when she's right up there and not listening to anything?
The best way of helping Luna is by preventing her getting to this point of arousal . Start stopping their play and start separating them before either of them get too excited/aroused.
