Hi all. Haven't been on much lately as I have been flat out reading pippas happy puppy book. It is great and so helpful ! I would highly recommend it. So we are heading off now to collect izzy. She is a 3 and a half hour drive away from us. So we decided we are going to leave today with the kiddies and make a little holiday of it. So we will collect izzy on Wednesday and then head home !!! I am a bit anxious about the long journey hope with her. But it has to be done. Can't wait to tell the girls about getting her we kept it a secret as they gave no concept of time so telling them Wednesday morning is long enough lol ! So I will post again when izzy is home with us. Soo excited !

If it makes you feel any better.... our boy Pongo was miserable all journey (2 1/2 hours), was sick, messed himself, whined piteously, yelped, and looked completely bereft.... and then within ten minutes of getting to the house was completely fine and had forgotten all about it! So if you do have a bad journey, don't let it traumatise you too much - just get on home. And take a supply of fresh newspaper.... Rosie
Re: 2 days to go till we collect izzy !!!!! we had a 4 hour drive with oscar..I stole some clean blankets from work and asked the owner if he would throw the blankets in with Oscar's siblings for 10 mins, so they (the blankets) were nice and smelly... we sat Oscar on the blankets on our way home and he fell asleep.
Re: 2 days to go till we collect izzy !!!!! Take plenty of paper towel! Don't forget the pup will need lots of sleep during the day, so excited children (and Mummy ) must remember that, just pop him in his crate periodically.

[/quote] Like Wiggy, we had towels put in with mum and the pups before collecting Harvey. We put the towels in the bottom of a box and Harvey on the towels and he slept all the way home (on a nightmare journey that should have been 45 minutes and ended up taking 2.5 hours!)

Do not worry , the pup will sleep most of the time , he might be a little scared of strange sounds like the car , radio, passing trucks etc . But he would settle down soon . am sure ur girls are going to love it . Have fun n Keep us posted Cheers Vish
