So, I have in my mind that Charlie shouldn't be an only dog. I want another one...

Not now. In about a year or so....

Since it took me 16 years to bring OH round to having a dog at all though, I reckon I had better make a start now.

How to make him have the idea himself that a 2nd dog would be wonderful? (With apologies to all the male forumers (copyright Jen on the term) it's always plan A to make them think it was their idea all along...).

    Hmmmm....

It might be a spaniel, could I get him to think a spaniel is the best thing since sliced bread, I wonder?

I bought mine an old tatty land rover in exchange for another dog (maybe a spaniel if I'm brave enough and haven't made a mess of Riley  )

What? You have agreement that you've paid in advance for another dog? Wow...impressive...

What about one of those lovely clumber spaniels, and then you could also add the point that you are saving a breed. Maggiex

Hold your horses now ladies before you go rushing out to purchase new dogs, I have a very handsome Labrador x Pointer with his bags packed ready to go to the first taker, as lord knows you couldn't do a worse job than me ;) I need a rest

I think it's very exciting that you are both thinking about getting second dogs. I would never do it again just too difficult for me. Good luck to you both though. Helen xxx :)

Heidrun, wouldn't you consider a different breed??? x
