Hi, I have a 2 year old lab x pointer, he had a lump removed from his back as the needle aspiration test was inconclusive, the lump was sent away and was confirmed as a seroma - probably result of trauma. Possibly was a result of rough play with our other lab but who knows. So after surgery the surgical site wound itself healed very well but the surrounding area filled with fluid and has been drained a few times but keeps coming back, the lump on his back is actually bigger than it was before. The last time it was drained the fluid colour was yellow and the vet is saying due to chronic inflammation possibly as a reaction to the stitches. The vet now suggests a further operation where different stitches will be used and more of them to close the gap where the wound was to ensure this does not fill up again. I did question where anti inflammatories would be worth trying but he did not think it would be a good idea. Anyone experienced something similar? I was a bit reluctant to go through surgery again. Thanks, Kerri
