Hi. Wondering if there’s a logical explanation for her behaviour.

so for the last two weeks now our 4 year old lab has suddenly started to nest

just wondered why as this is so out of the blue for her.

she is very happy ,lively well behaved. However this nesting behaviour is out of the ordinary

    many thanks

    Maggie Thomas .

By nesting do you mean digging at her bedding? This can sometimes be a sign of discomfort, either being cold, or in pain.

Hi apologies for late reply. So no she’s not digging at her bedding. However she seems to bunch the pillows on the spare bed in the spare room up almost as if she’s forming a wall with them. She’s very comfortable and looks comfy. She’s not in pain or anything like that. I just wondered if ( because this is new behaviour ) it had anything to do with her being a female and her maternal instinct was appearing. She is a a very good dog and very loving.

Sounds like she is just making herself a comfy bed to sleep in...
