Hi, I have a 5 month old black lab who for the last 5 weeks has been eating wainwrights large breed puppy food (turkey and rice) but his stools have still not formed and are very wet and runny. Anyone got any ideas on a food change or should I persevere? Thank you.

    Hi @Susan65

    welcome to the forum.

Five weeks is too long for runny stools. The dog's digestive system should have adjusted reasonably quickly--maybe a week to 10 days at the most.

Did the vet advise you to put the puppy on that specific dog food?

You could be overfeeding if part of the stool is formed at the start if not get him checked by the vet just to safe.
