Hello, my Black Lab is Oakley and he is 6 months old. He has had no issues sleeping in his crate from the first night we brought him home. In the last month or so he has started pooping in his crate at night. We gradually increased his day time crate time as he got older, but he is never in there for more than 3 hrs if at all because someone is usually home. He gets plenty of exercise, play time, walks, training, normal bath room breaks, scheduled feeding times etc. We had a fecal test done at the vet(it was negative for anything), he has been on prescription dog food for loose stool twice after that. We have switched from the breeder recommended Iams to hills science diet and now we are back on a $104 bag prescription hills science diet which the vet said he may need to be on the rest of his life. I've recently started giving him Florta Fauna and even gave him oat milk yesterday. His stool is either completely runny or like soft serve ice cream. He had a few weeks of solid stool and now we are back to the runny stuff. He ate his last meal at 4pm yesterday, he had a huge dump at 5pm(very soft) and then a smaller one at 9pm and back out at 1030 before bed but he did not go. Woke up at 7am and his crate was covered in poop. We've tried a smaller size crate, larger size crate, blankets he likes, no blankets. I've used bleach spray and the enzyme cleaner to remove the poop smell. We raised a chocolate Lab 12 years ago and did not have this issue. The only thing we haven't tried is feeding him in his crate, which we will do today. Does anyone have any input on this, ideas or or dealt with a similar issue? Just looking for some help. Thanks.
