Re: A little moan... I don't understand how anyone, anywhere decides to bring a living animal into their homes and families with so little effort made to understand its needs. You have my utmost sympathy
Re: A little moan... Oh my goodness, how truly awful , not surprised that you feel in despair Pippa , that poor little soul :'(
Re: A little moan... It's heartbreaking. Sometimes, when I consider how very much all our forum dogs are loved and cared for, and read things like this, I can't help telling Charlie "you don't know your luck, mate".
Re: A little moan... It never ceases to amaze me how utterly dense people are to accept a tiny, tiny puppy that has been taken from it's mother far too early and then complain about the poor little thing. I don't know how you don't lose your patience with these people Pippa, I would. :'( :'( :'( x
Re: A little moan... I do understand that there are different attitudes to dogs in different countries, but I just really struggle to understand how anyone can sell a three or four week old puppy, that has barely learnt to walk, and is not even weaned. Very, very sad.
Re: A little moan... the poor babies, so cruel what they are doing with these poor little babies :'( :'( :'(
Re: A little moan...
I do understand that there are different attitudes to dogs in different countries, but I just really struggle to understand how anyone can sell a three or four week old puppy, that has barely learnt to walk, and is not even weaned. Very, very sad.
The breeder and the buyers are equally at fault. Just so cruel and I suppose many die or don't grow properly and may have health issues. It beggars belief :'( :'(
Re: A little moan... What country is the post from ? Only excuse would be if the bitch had died or something other than that it's just madness and tantamount to cruelty
Re: A little moan... Most of these posts concerning very young puppies are from India or Pakistan. There is a huge surge in Labrador ownership in India at the moment.
Re: A little moan... That is so sad and I really feel for you Pippa. It's got to be hard to reply without being honest about how you feel (well, it would be hard for me to respond kindly!) x
Re: A little moan... The best you can do is tell them how to best help the puppy survive and then go from there. Not going to be any help hitting them with the sad truth
Re: A little moan... I tell them that their puppy is too young to leave its mother let alone cope with anything else, and ask them to read this article: Too young to leave Mum. I actually do not tell them how to help the puppy survive. After much soul searching, I decided that if I become a source of information on caring for 20 day old puppies, I am just encouraging this horrid trade. I tell them to take the puppy back to the breeder, or contact their vet. You can read my 'rationale' in the article. It is not an easy decision.
Re: A little moan... You have my total sympathy. We get it all the time with parrots too. Most moaned about is "screams", "bites", "makes a mess" and good old "doesn't talk". There is no cure-all and just keeping advising/answering is all anyone can do.
Re: A little moan... off topic mad mud, my nephew had his parrot flown out to south africa with him, ... took time for them to be together after quarantine, it just shows how much our pets mean to us
