This afternoon , I had to stay in to wait for a phone call , as usual the dogs starting wandering around, looking to the porch where their leads hang and generally " pushing " , which I ignored and then Paul said , I`ll take them , shock horror As he can only walk a very few yards , this meant using his mobility scooter and two dogs, but he was quite determined that it was do-able . At Seaton , a little coastal resort is a country side walk with level hard pathways so he declared that this was where he was going, it was like planning a military operation : I wasnt concerned about Sam because frankly I think Sam would go for a walk with anyone who offered but Millie is another story , she is very bonded to me and the only last time Paul attempted to take her, she went straight back to the car, sat by the door and wouldnt move so I was a little worried . They were gone for ages , no phone reception at Seaton either , me pacing around, trying not to panic but then they arrived back , Paul said that they had been stars , waiting in the car whilst he got the scooter down the ramp , then on leads until they had passed the duck pond ( Millie loves ducks as much as squirrels ) he put Millie on his knee and Sam trotted at the side of the scooter . They went for about two miles then back to the car , I was very relieved that Millie had stayed with him ( sausage helped ) and according to Paul , they had raised many smiles along the way , so pleased that they adapted to such a different way of being out and about , Paul is now talking of buying a basket for Millie to sit in on the front of his scooter
Re: A very different walk Wow, what a great result! (sausage almost always helps doesn't it ) And how lovely for all of them I'm sure Millie would appreciate her own basket!
