Murphy's constant chewing on everything but his chew toys, his nipping and snapping at me and his determination to get on the sofa, and the fact he keeps bloody weeing on the carpet 10 mins after he's been outside is literally making me want to scream and cry
Re: Aaaaarrgghhh My Caddie and Alice used to be like crocodiles when they were puppies, comes with the territory I am afraid. If you have never had a puppy before then it can be a bit of shock to the system. They'll grow out of it in time, but you have only had a couple of weeks of it so far, there is still a long way to go. ;D
Re: Aaaaarrgghhh totally agree with heidrun, i was traumatised the first couple of months, it will and does get better .....then you will start to enjoy
Re: Aaaaarrgghhh so understand - it does get better...um...actually, I think you get better at coping and so it becomes more enjoyable. The weeing on the carpet stops though!
Re: Aaaaarrgghhh Baby gates saved our sanity....kept him on the wipe clean kitchen floor and stopped him getting at anything he shouldn't. He wasn't a prisoner but it gave us breaks from the puppyness It will get better !
Re: Aaaaarrgghhh i was very very lucky the first week i got him, fully housed trained day and night within a week , still had my ups and downs with other things, :'( most damage was in my garden , ......i took him out of the crate at 4 months, massive gamble, i also have baby gates
Re: Aaaaarrgghhh Thanks everyone, I think i wrote this in a slight moment of hysteria. I feel better now lol. He's been asleep. Lol. Iv been enjoying it as a challenge but just had a moment of doubt fuelled by hunger and being tired!
Re: Aaaaarrgghhh yup, it's always better when they are asleep and you get a break! Good job they do a fair bit of sleep, otherwise I'm not sure anyone could bring up a puppy!
Re: Aaaaarrgghhh Hi Frankie, we all know how you feel so be hysterical if you like, I have been on many occasions ;D Helen x
Re: Aaaaarrgghhh The widdling on the carpet got me so upset with hd. this time she's not allowed near the stuff so thankfully i've retained most of my sanity this time round. the nipping your feet could stop but poor old honey dog is taking the worst of it. she gets bitten on the leg. :-\ It doesn't really feel fair for her to shoulder the pain of puppydom.

[/quote] I so know what you mean - my poor old dog Bones was a saint with Poppy - she bit him, knocked him down, and stole his food and toys. I felt terrible and thought I'd ruined his last year of life... Couple of months later they were the best of friends and inseparable! Any time you want to offload "puppy overload syndrome" - this is the place to do it! We've all been through it and completely understand!
Re: Aaaaarrgghhh Lol Freddie has had me wanting to pull my hair out and say omg what have I done lol I had forgotten how much hard work pups are, but on the whole he is pretty good. When he goes to mouth or bite we all make a high pitch "owch" and then turn our back on him for a minute, and he hardly does it after just a couple of days. Fortunately the toilet training is coming along well as he prefers to wee out in the garden We just got to work on him wanting to chew everything he isn't supposed to be! Swapping for his toys works for a second and then he's off looking for the wires, socks, post anything to sink his little teeth into lol
Re: Aaaaarrgghhh I've found it much easier to keep puppy in one room rather than have access to whole house. this means i can lift everything off the floor / within jumping height. will be hard if she tries walls / kitchen cupboards etc. here's hoping we don't get that!
Re: Aaaaarrgghhh - Murphy doesn't like rain! We've only got a little house, for the first week he was only allowed In the kitchen and now he's allowed in the kitchen and living room (which is the whole of our downstairs!) and he's not allowed upstairs. Iv bought some of that spray to put on stuff we really don't want him to chew and he licks it and then sneezes which is amusing! A problem that has occured only today as in the two weeks we've had him today is the first day that it has rained and I mean chucked it down! Who thought I would be saying that in England! Anyway and now Murphy won't go outside to go to the loo, I was stood outside with the door open and he stood in the doorway and went there! So now I have taken to lifting him outside and then shutting the door (staying outside with him) so that he can't get back in until he's gone to the loo. Is that ok and the best thing to do? Thanks for all the support x
Re: Aaaaarrgghhh I am definitely having an arghhh moment. He is chewing everything in sight except all his lovely toys of course. I have fibromyalgia so I get a lot of pain and fatigue so I'm supposed to be having rest.....pay fat chance lol I get to the point where I think I could kill him and then he just looks at me with that soppy little face and puppy eyes brimming with love and I go all gooey lol
Re: Aaaaarrgghhh Yes, staying with him is the best thing to do . My two year old loves water but is also reluctant to go out in the rain , will try sneaking back if I dont watch him, monkeys :
Re: Aaaaarrgghhh Ok cool, I feel bad because he looks at me and then the door like please let me back in and then if he sits down I feel bad about him getting a wet bum! I think I'm a bit soft lol x
Re: Aaaaarrgghhh kate i could do with some tips hehehe, soft jasper wont let me shut the door when he goes out, i have got to leave it open , if it cold i just freeze .........i am ok to leave my door open now the guy handed himself in this morning pheew
