Howdy folks.... recently (well on 2 occasions) Bob has done a poop in our boy's playroom!!!!! I'm honestly not sure what has triggered this at all! Any suggestions as to what we can do? I thought he was 100% solid (scuse the pun) in that department? The playroom is the last room in the house before the backdoor.

    Ideas I've had so far:

    1. Rainy weather?!
    2. Friend's dog visited before Christmas, and I wonder if they 'marked' in that room.. Bob does seem to sniff around in there quite a bit.

Obviously it's back to basics, keep him with us.. keep that door closed. Invite him out regularly, reward highly etc.

Just weird that this has started happening. I know it's only been twice, but I don't want a pattern/habit forming here. It's like he sees that room as the 'outside' and he never used to before now.

Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

WAs it over the Christmas holiday period when there was yummy food he might have had some samples of and lots of unusual visiting and commotion going on? He might have had a little dietary upset because of that and lost his schedule or had an unusual need. I'd clean thoroughly with an enzymatic based dog cleaner and keep an eye out for repeats. I bet you don't have any. I hope you don't.

That is strange It could be that he wasn't able to get anyone's attention and really needed to go, or that he doesn't like going out in the rain! If another dog marked in the room it is more likely that he would mark over it, but only with a wee.
I would shut his access off from this room unless an adult is n there with him for a while. Hope it doesn't happen again
