So Pippa is 8 days post-op today. She is going stir crazy with lack of exercise, jumping around l, trying to goad her 4 year old 'sister' into action. No matter how many times I tell her she is recovering from surgery she takes absolutely no notice :)!. Just short lead exercise sine she had this done, Any advice as to when we can let her off her lead again and when she can swim - please...... Major error to have taken three weeks holiday in Devon pre surgery - she was as fit as a flea having been out all day every day, running and swimming.

Hi there, you really need to be guided by your vet. The standard advice is to keep the dog very calm until stitches are out at 10-14 days and then a further week or two of reduced level activity before starting to rebuild fitness. When is your next vet appt?

Listen to your vet. Cooper could not swim for 10 to 14 days as I recall. Kind of the same for me after surgery for a broken hip last summer. Walking should be fine now but not hard running for a while yet.
