Hmm - could just be a co-incidence. My guess is that if he has tolerated these things with no vomiting in the past, even at the lower dose, then they are probably not what is affecting him now. That's just my guess though. We always give Advocate and worm treatments at exactly the same time too, with no troubles.

How is Jasper looking otherwise? Is his behaviour normal?

Do you think he vomited up the tapeworm tablet? If you don't think it stayed down then you can wait a week and give him another one.

I do hope he is feeling better soon :) One vomit is usually nothing to worry about, but it's never nice to think that they are not feeling 100%.

Hi some dogs do vomit with wormers, it's more common with some than others. Which brand did you use and I can give you some more advice, although it's not a sign of anything serious or worrying if it is the tablets

we have always used advocate from the vets every month... today they give me the tape worm tablets, told me to give him them with butter, he was given them 5 hours ago, so i would think they would be in his system by now....i hear all the stories on here about fleas/worms/ ticks/ ect....
never having a dog before it freaks me out.
i can deal with childness illness, mumps /measles/chicken pox, sickness,........i know it might seem strange that i don't know the difference between a dog and a child when they are sick...i do know i will sit up with him tonight as i would if it was one of my children .... :)

In my experience the worming tablets often result in a slightly upset stomach for a day or so. That's why I always give them at a time when I can be at hand to let the dog out if needed. I gave Pops her three-monthly worming tablet yesterday - the resulting stenchy facts and squishy poos were gross!!! From experience, I expect everything to be back to normal this afternoon. We use Drontal.

Did you give them to him with butter? Riley vomits if he eats something greasy like fatty meat or something oily. We usually hide rileys in a piece of cheese.

Ah, now that is something I have learned, Lynne - not to do the worming on the same day as the tick and flea treatment. It seems to be too much for their systems.

I nearly killed my old dog Billy by giving him worming tablets and the tick/flea treatment on the same day as his vaccination... There were no warnings not to do so, but he had a bit of a collapse... Recovered fine, but now I am careful to space the treatments out.

Glad to hear things are back to normal.
Frontline doesn't seem to be a problem (not sure if it helps with ticks so good ::) ) but we use drontal xl like karen and usually have a mildly upset tum.
