Jade,I think it's a guessing game until they are fully mature.....Dex has been 25 kgs at 10 months but he was 23.5 kgs last week at 12.5 months ......he's only a small build though,I will try and measure his height and let you know.dexs cousin Barnie lives in dubai...they have the same grandfather and Dexter is like a little dot next to Barnie ....."

She will definately gain more weight Jade as her muscles and bones get stronger , she also has a little growing to do height wise :)
Sams weight flucutates a little, in summer he weighs a little less due to playing out in the garden in the daytime and evenings as well as his walks and then he gains a little in winter when playing out isnt so often and its just his walks , he currently weighs 37 kilos but no fat on him, just big ;)

I bet Riley and Dex are the same size Barabra....25 kgs was Dex's heaviest and he was a little thick around the waist ;D he's just perfect as he is now.....I'm glad his weight stays pretty steady as I think with being so tiny he could get fat easily if he was prone to putting it on...I think you said the other day 'small but perfectly formed!' ;D

    The vet estimated 38kg?
Wow that's a lot of lab for your money!

Rosie was 18kg at her last weigh in at 5months - she's six months now.
    Can't imagine her a whopping 20kg more!
Hilarious - she seems massive now!

My neighbours dog is a mahoosive 64 kg so however big Rosie gets she'll always look small in comparison!!!

I should have said the 64 kg dog next door is a 1year old St. Bernard....not a hugely overweight lab!

oh dear, thank goodness he is not a lab, i nearly fell off the chair when i read that :)
my vet estimated 38 kg, stressed she did not want him to hit 40 kg if he did she would smack my hands, he is looking that he will reach the 38 kg by 12 month :)

I guess its a lot to do with genes , Sams sire and his sire are big boned dogs, his Mum is no dinky soul either :)
Our Vet is a stickler re overweight dogs but he agrees that whilst 37 kilos sounds like a fat dog , Sam definately isnt , his legs are fairly long but certainly not overly so, he isnt gangly , its just his whole structure that is huge . Its quite sweet really that he is such a massive boy but a proper wuss ;D

Oh my, 25 at 6 mths lynne - Willow seems tiny now, she's only 11kg at a week over 4 mths though she was an emaciated 3.2 kgs when rescued at 9 weeks! Great to see her grow. Jack is 25 at 9 years and again was emaciated when I rescued him at 13 mths (he looked slightly bigger than she is now!) I dont know how people can starve puppies!! My first lab who I had from 9 weeks (of working stock) always stayed around 35 kgs and the vet kept telling me he had to lose weight though he was very stocky but not fat. They are all amazing and such great fun - even at the bitey, torturous, energetic puppy stage ;D
