Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: Starting soon - Photo competition Ooh, exciting think Heidrun will outdo a lot of us
Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: Starting soon - Photo competition oooooooo! exciting! Are there going to be categories? Do the photos need to be 'new' ones? Will there be PRIZES?? Am I asking too many questions?
Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: Starting soon - Photo competition you know how in agility they do a class where anything but a collie can enter? why don't we have a class 'anyone but heidrun'?

For the rest of us less talented picture takers a photo competition with you is like a 100M race between Usain Bolt and the inhabitants of an old people's home. Anyway, I'm ever the optimist and would take part anyway - imagine if one of the old timers actually beat Mr Bolt! ;D
Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: Starting soon - Photo competition Are professional photographers photos of our dogs allowed?
Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: Starting soon - Photo competition Oh Heidrun please take it as the compliment it was meant to be. Your photographs are amazing.

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: Starting soon - Photo competition Being not too computer savvy how do I get a photo on here in the first place ? Like to put a photo of Maisy on but don't know how ? Thanks :-\
Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: Starting soon - Photo competition You need to start an account on a photo hosting site like Flickr (which is what I use but you can also use Photobucket or Dropbox). This thread here has some info about how to post a photo using Flickr
Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: Starting soon - Photo competition Heidrun, do you have a bit of time to write a few tips? You know the kind of thing. Just to help us to do better photographs, with or witnout posh equipment. Ive borrowed the works camera and wondered whether I should take photos on the burst setting so taking lots and discarding most of them. Is that the right idea and if so do I need it to take more than four photos on burst before pausing? Its got quite a large, fast card but to do more than 4 id need to reduce picture quality which im loathe to do. Thanks for any tips sarah

Without the kit my photos would be rubbish! Sometimes I shoot in raw which gives lots of scope when editing. It is just trial and error and studying some really great photos of pro photographers and trying to work out how they achieved those images.
