Re: another daft question from me??? re barking Amy barks at me when she has done something she thinks deserves a treat!!
Re: another daft question from me??? re barking Jade , Sam, now almost 22 months , rarely barks, in fact I reckon I can count the number of times he has barked on the fingers of one hand Its such a rare occurance that when he does bark , its a proper shock to us , he doesnt even bark when the doorbell rings
Re: another daft question from me??? re barking i have trained him to stop going and barking for the hoover, but the mopping he goes beserk barking and growling, he can see me from the baby gate, he never barks any other time, when he wants out just stands at the door and gives out a lil whimper ,
Re: another daft question from me??? re barking Though some dogs seem to enjoy yapping, there is a school of thought that says the vast majority of dog make a noise because we teach them to. Most dogs actually prefer to communicate through body language, but we humans are pretty rubbish at that, and we often inadvertently encourage them to make a noise by ignoring their body language and responding to the noises they make. I have one dog that makes a noise when excited (a cocker) the other four (including two labs) are almost totally silent. Pippa
Re: another daft question from me??? re barking thank you, its all learning for me, i would prefer to watch his body language, i wont be encouraging jasper to make a noise, well i will try, pippa 5 dogs???? i have found it so tough with jasper, think i am getting there slowly, he now brings a toy when he wants a tickle, he nos i dont like the biting
Re: another daft question from me??? re barking I haven't responded to the barking for the treat. As its normally her doing something on her own without the command. ;D
Re: another daft question from me??? re barking She will be 12 weeks on Saturday. Weeks are flying past, I managed yo get mixed up with her age.
Re: another daft question from me??? re barking awh shes so cute, , seen the photos, bless her she looks like a bundle of joy
Re: another daft question from me??? re barking
Amy barks at me when she has done something she thinks deserves a treat!!
Same here. Obi does it at dog training classes if it's been too long in between cues (in his opinion). Naturally I ignore it, which is helping, slowly. Other than that he only barks if he wants to alert us to something. Oh, and if he wants to play with another dog who isn't interested (very rude - we remove him from the scene if he does this). Other than that he is quiet. Except for whining if we are sitting and reading and being boring. And general moaning and groaning when he's settling in for a snooze on the couch. Except for that he is silent. With the exception being that he also barks like a wild beast at other dogs we pass in the car. So, actually, he is a very talkative little man. But I think that he is the exception and most Labs are fairly quiet most of the time (or previous Lab was very quiet).
Re: another daft question from me??? re barking thank you for the answers, to alert me in a morning normally 5. 20 he just gives a cry, think hes going to be a big softy, just wish he didnt want to get up so early ,
Re: another daft question from me??? re barking Rileys pretty quiet, he honks like a goose in excitement when Ben gets home from work and rushes from door to door trying to work out which one he's coming through. The odd bark in the house and that's it.
Re: another daft question from me??? re barking asper sounds very much like riley, when my son mark comes in the front door, jasper starts running round the house, he is so excited to see him, his whole body wiggles, so funny
