So Finn is having intermittent soft and sometimes runny poos. His first poo in the morning is usually great! Then the rest during the day are pretty soft, like pudding but not full on diarrhea. So, it's not constant. I'm wondering if he might need to be dewormed again? He had great poos for about 2 months on his current food and treats. I can't really think of much that I have changed. Should I try switching his food? He is on Taste Of The Wild High Prairie Puppy. He also eats a lot of stupid stuff on the ground, so I don't know if that could be the issue.
Is it pudding like throughout or just the end? That would suggest over feeding possibly. Or too large a meal at once. So. Many. Reasons. For . Soft. Poop.
I would suggest cutting his meals down in portion and give more smaller meals throughout the day. Harley gets like this sometimes, usually when she's eaten something on a walk.
My girl, 6 months, has run the full gamut of poos from kickable to like a shower spray and everything in between. In fact, she went from kickable to shower spray in a couple of hours, maybe less. Every time it has only been the poo that has changed, she is always her normal, bouncy self. I took her to the vet one time because it lasted a few days and changing to a bland diet made no odds, but there was nothing of concern in his view and it was attributed to something she must have eaten whilst out. I am now resigned to her changing bowels as one of those 'life's rich tapestry' things that come with having a scavenging lab for a pet. The vet gave her a tube of Promax which definitely helped and I have since bought some Protexin and slippery elm bark as mentioned in this forum for future poo changes!
I would give smaller meals and see what happens, if he's very skinny add a lunch time meal. Otherwise just try smaller meals.
