Took Tara up the park, for a long lead session. Everything went well, with instant recall on the whistle, and sit/stay when other dogs appeared on the horizon (still have difficulty with shopping bags on wheels!). Moved round near the road through the park, so reeled in the lead, which by now was wrapped around her middle, only to find that she had bitten through it!
To date that is three Halti double ended leads and two long training leads she has destroyed. At least her teeth are in good condition!

I think it is a hint that she wants to be off the lead all the time. Must say the worst was being called to the middle of the training room, on bronze award, to do her bit. I walked to the middle, but Tara was still sitting, with half the lead on, having chewed through it, bored with the wait, I suspect.

I had a dog like that! I asked a chap to hold my dogs while I did a demonstration with another dog, came back to see him holding two leads but only one dog there! He hadn't noticed! I also once tied all three dogs to a gate while I fed the pheasants, came back to all three dogs sitting there, but he had bitten through all three leads! In the end I bought a chain lead which he couldn't bite through.
