Hi, I've already posted asking for help in the training section, but will try to post a photo here. I own Molly, a Lab crossbreed, who is now almost 7 months old. We live by the sea in East Sussex.
Re: Another newbie from East Sussex Joy we are near the sea as well, I may see you walking Molly on the beach! I'll keep my eye out! Debs
Re: Another newbie from East Sussex Welcome Joy from me and my two dogs , what a lovely photo , she is beautiful
Re: Another newbie from East Sussex Welcome. Molly looks very sweet. From Milly(4mths) and me Annette
Re: Another newbie from East Sussex Welcome from me too. Black Lab, Lady aged 4 here. Molly is very pretty. What's she crossed with? Looks like a really good combo.
Re: Another newbie from East Sussex Thank you for all the welcomes. Molly's mother was a Chesapeake Bay Retriever (I saw her) and I was told her father was a Lab. However I'm pretty sure there's something else in the mix somewhere as she has little white patches on the back of each paw! Honey67 - it would be lovely to meet up eventually when your pup is big enough.
Re: Another newbie from East Sussex Chessies often have white on their feet or chest. Molly is lovely
Re: Another newbie from East Sussex Welcome ;D My purebred Lab has white stripes on the back of his paws, supposed to go back to a very well known Lab in the 1920's known as Banchory Bolo.
Re: Another newbie from East Sussex
Welcome ;D My purebred Lab has white stripes on the back of his paws, supposed to go back to a very well known Lab in the 1920's known as Banchory Bolo.
That's really interesting. Mira is pure bred and has small white stripes up the back of 3 of her paws in addition to a chest spot and a few stray tufts on her tummy. Two of her black siblings also had them.
Re: Another newbie from East Sussex That's very interesting - I didn't know Chessies could have some white markings and I'm also very surprised to hear that pedigree Labs do sometimes. (Short pause while I rush outside to stop Molly burying her bone in the lawn. She does have a digging area and up to now has kept to that.) I think Molly is going to be big. At 7 months she's about 18 inches - I haven't gone metric - to the shoulder and weighs 32.5kg.
Re: Another newbie from East Sussex I think I somewhere that a certain amount of white on black labs "allowed" in show dogs. I'm sure someone here will know about that. Molly does sound like she's going to be a big girl - more to cuddle!
