Hello, I am trying to gather as much information as possible. My lab is 9.5 years old and was chasing a ball and came back limping. The leg swelling is gone, but he still has a big knot on the back and below his left hock joint. I can touch it and squeeze it and massage it and straighten his leg and bend his leg at both the hock and knee joints. His spirts are back to normal. He puts only a tiny amount of weight on it; even while standing at his food dish eating, he alternates between holding it up, and barely resting it on the floor. I would be grateful to hear the rest of the story from anyone who has been through something similar. Thank you.

Hi Jean, I don't think the member who started the old thread you originally posted this on is going to come back, so I've created this new thread for you. Hopefully some people with experiences similar to yours will be along shortly! Good luck to you and your Lab, I hope he's back to chasing balls again soon!

We actually just picked our lab up today from surgery. He had the same type injury and had tore his ligaments loose from his hock or ankle. Regular vet couldn’t diagnose it, we had to see an orthopedic.
