We regularly go to our local dog park, at Yarralumla, for some play time with other doggies.

Here are a few shots from this morning. It wasn't very busy, but there were a few nice dogs to play with.

We soon met these two lovely girls, who turned their minds to wrangling treats from hubby (unsuccessfully). "We know you've got treats in there, Mister!!".

Obi is the one in the middle in this game of chase.

Obi is the one nearest the camera.

The Beagle on-lead in this pic was called Bagel.....

The dog park is quite big, with high fences.

There are double gates at each end to minimise escapes while coming and going. There is also a large area for small dogs and puppies, so they don't have to mix it with the big guys and gals if they don't want to. The black and white dog in this photo is in the small dog/puppy area (she's technically a puppy.....though clearly not on the small side!).

Afterwards we went for a walk along the bike path round the lake.

The dog park is a wonderful resource, and we have rarely had any issues with cranky dogs. There are four or five of these parks in Canberra, of about the same size. We are very lucky to have them!

Great pictures Rachael. Oh how I wish we had those kinds of facilities here, it would make a world of difference to us with Charlie having some off lead time. Helen x

Your park looks very similar to ours, Rachael, with the double gates, fences, and next to walking paths that go around a lake (in our case a very small pond :p). The only thing we don't have is the small dog/puppy area, which I can see would be a great idea after seeing Simba trying to play with a Shitzu Type dog in his typical wrasslin' style....you could tell he was TRYING TO BE GENTLE....

That looks like a great, fun, safe place for dogs to run around and meet others... :)
