Anyone in the Melbourne/Mornington Peninsula area who is interested in checking out Flyball might like to come along to the National Flyball Championships this Good Friday and Easter Saturday. It's being held at Hastings - more details in the link: https://flyball.org.au/race-meeting/2017-australian-flyball-championships/723/

Racing starts at 8:30am tomorrow and will go all day.

It'll be pretty big, with teams coming from all over the country. Obi and I will there too :)

Ooh how exciting! We were at the beach not far from there today. We're at a Rally trial on Sunday (at KCC Park) but maybe I should find a reason to head down to Hastings on Saturday :)

    Thanks everyone!!

The comp is huge - there are three rings running simultaneously. And dogs everywhere. And a lot of barking.

Our team did well on Day 1 and we're coming first in our Division. Mind you, this is Division 10, meaning that there are stacks of teams much faster than us. But in Division 10 we are looking good!!

Obi hasn't missed a beat. At one point the sound system let out a massive growling noise like a seriously annoyed Tyrannosaurus Rex and Obi stopped in the middle of his run to consider this for a moment and then kept going. Good boy.

We did have a big team hicccup as two of our dogs travelling from Canberra were delayed till the middle of the afternoon as their car broke down 2 hours out of Melbourne. One of the humans got the train to Melbourne, hired a car and drove back to collect the other human and their 4 Huskies. They didn't mention to the hire car company that they were putting 4 Huskies in the back seat. Until the Huskies arrived our four other dogs ran every race and did a fab job.

We're heading to the grounds now for Day 2. I'll put up some pics tonight :)

Emily, if you make it we're positioned not too far from the food vans and the brick amenities block. As you face the rings with the brick building on your right we're about about 30m to your left. We're running in a combined team (Canberra X Factor and Wonder Woofs) and we have a banner out the front of our tent with Wonder Woofs on it. Our team is called 'Wonder Woofs X'. I've got my green Canberra X Factor t-shirt on.

We won our Division! So Obi is a Division 10 National Champion for 2017 :D Our best time was 26.315 seconds.

Pics to come once we get back to the parents-in-laws' wi-fi.

Thanks Selina :) We also think he is quite handsome, even if we do say so ourselves! He uses it to his advantage to extract treats from unsuspecting humans.
