I got home yesterday to the most awful smell. Willow had been sick in her crate. Not just a regurgitation style vomit, it smelled just like human sick and was very liquid with bits in it. Eugh. Of course, she was trying to eat it again, but I managed to clean it up and get the bed in the washing machine. Later on, she did it again - SO much and it stank to high heaven. I asked the friend who had walked them during the day and she said that Willow had run off into the trees at one point, so probably found something dead to eat then. I decided not to give her any dinner and let her tummy settle. She's had a poo this morning and it was absolutely normal, so I'm wondering if I should give her something small and easy to digest (scrambled egg?) for breakfast, or just go back to normal food. She's absolutely fine in herself, although probably a bit grumpy she didn't get her dinner!
Re: Awful vomit Oh dear, poor Willow and poor you too, having to clean it up : I would feed her on very light food for today , scrambled eggs , chicken and sloppy rice or white fish with rice , she will be very grumpy for sure, but it will give her system chance to get over it . Maybe if she is absolutely fine by tea time, give her a small helping of normal food with eggs, but only very small , good luck x

Re: Awful vomit Oh no! I hope it clears up soon. Poor girl. In these types of circumstances, I feed Charlie a wet tinned sensitivity control food. It's Royal Canin SC21 - it's worth having a tin or two in if you can, I think. After the strange vomiting illness Charlie had a while back, and I couldn't find anything else at all that was guaranteed to be "safe" to feed, I wouldn't be without a tin in the cupboard.

Re: Awful vomit I'll get some in when I go to town this week. She had some oats and egg for breakfast and gobbled it up in true Labrador style. Shadow also enjoyed the change of menu

As long as she doesn't bring it up again I would feed her as normal this evening but a smaller portion than normal to help her stomach recover. I'll have to investigate the Royal Canin SC21 but have never seen it in any of our stores and my usual online company have it in packs of 12 tins. A tad too much for the odd occasion it's needed.

[/quote] I've used the same for Maisie, the gastrointestinal stuff? I also keep a couple cans. You can usually get it from your vets in single cans, that's where I've gotten mine.
