bra!!! All of the straps and the band and half of the cups. All while we were out of the house for 20 minutes.

On the one hand I'm furious, on the other hand I'm freaking out because of the straps and worried they may get all tangled.

Why does he do this to me!!! I just want to bawl my eyes out

    Was there an underwire involved...?

I know how stressful it is... But mostly these episodes turn out totally fine - they vomit up the bits. So don't freak out :) Just keep an eye on him. If he's not eating or drinking or becomes really lethargic or can't settle or is looking round at his tummy or is straining to poo then take him to the vet. But all going well none of that should happen and it will reappear from one end or the other...

My first dog swallowed a whole toothpick once (a really chunky one with sharp points at both ends, about 2.5 inches long). I was convinced he was going to end up with a punctured bowel. But it appeared out the back end a few days later without incident. Over his 14 years there were many, many similar incidents and I learned not to stress but just to observe and wait.

Thankfully we got home before he ate the underwire.

I just worry that he swallowed the straps with out ripping them up, just like when he swallowed that 3 foot long gauze string when he ate his cone. Then what if he throws it up and chokes on it. My mind is racing with all these horrible scenarios

Thank you for telling me your experiences, it certainly does help to hear those things right now.

Just went to an emergency vet to pick up some high fiber canned food to help bind things up in him. So hopefully that helps push it out.

Dogs are exceptionally good at throwing things up. Don't worry, he won't choke on it :)

My Labrador (the one who ate the toothpick) had a bit of a thing for nylon pantyhose/stockings. Exactly the kind of thing that you'd think would tie his tummy up in knots. But every single one (he ate quite a few...) came out just fine. Add to that too many plastic bags to mention.

Oh my goodness... why do dogs eat such things ?! It can't taste good:eek:

Well I hope this passes faster than when he ate his cone, because that was a long 5 weeks of tortue.

I keep a written record of what they eat and when and how long until it reappears. They love stuff that tastes and smells of us and each dog seems to had its own field of interest. moo loved fabrics Doug loved woodwork and Rory liked rubber and plastics. I won't tell you some of the things that have gone in and come out over the years but I've got a big respect for labs digestive systems. I learned to wait not worry and relax unless something bad happens. I have a pair if earings that I keep but don't wear as one if them passed through Rory

My devil dog ate tar backed carpet. I was too upset cleaning up the horrid mess he'd made of the floor of my spare room to see he'd thrown up all his dinner (and carpet, and strings of carpet, and tar scraps)...so he'd re-eaten it by the time I realised what had happened. However, despite my wanting to throttle him, I watched him for a while and he threw it up again - this time I was ready and scooped up the offending mess before he could eat it again. A few hours later I gave him some steamed chicken breast and he was fine the next day (eating normally).

Oh dear he certainly does put you through it. I think you can only follow others advice regarding 0bserving him.
Cassie loves my glasses, I have to be vigilant about not leaving them in her reach -- it's got expensive ! And pens.

I got a Disney princess pop out once. I never see them get this stuff though they are very sneaky. Its always stuff from outside like wooden chip forks key fobs. Some things take a while to work out what they are too. Something's I just think we'll whatever it was its out now.

Oh my word! I know the feeling very well, be warned - it can be over a week before they throw it up!

Here is my thread about a very similar happening - Tatze ate her lead  When's he did throw it up I found she'd swallowed it WHOLE!

She still, very occasionally, will eat things but has mostly grown out of it.

Oh my! She swallowed the lead whole ?! How did she not choke while getting that down in the first place?!

When Axel ate his cone and gauze string, it took 5 weeks to come out. He was completely fine and then one morning he just threw it up.

He also ate a blanket a couple weeks after that, so about 4 months ago, he hasn't thrown that up yet or pooped it out as far as we can tell. We can only assume that he must have shredded it into super fine pieces for us to miss it in his poops. Because surely that can't still be in there ...?

Update: Axel has had two normal poops this morning, was very eager to eat breakfast and drink. Also was eager for training treats on his walk this morning.

But still no sign of the remains.
