    Hello,
I don't know if this is something I should be worried about, but Jenny's big tooth came in, she pretty much has them all now, and the baby tooth is still there along side. It's the first pointy big tooth next to her bottom front teeth. Do you think it will fall out by itself or should I take her to the vet? It doesn't seem to bother her and with all the chewing she does, I'm a little surprised it's still there.

Hmm Axel had this happen to one of his canine teeth as well. I booked an appointment with the vet because it wasn't falling out and then the morning of the vet appointment it had fallen out

Hopefully it falls out quick but maybe call your vet and see if they suggest booking an appointment just in case it doesn't come out

We had a "puppy package" at our vet for Quinn's shots and it included a spay and at the time of spay (6 months), removing any remaining baby teeth, so I think it's fairly common. I would check with the vet and see what they say.

I'd definitely pop to the vet - you don't want the adult tooth to be distorted in anyway. It might be fine, but their big teeth have to last a long time, so it's not worth the risk of not getting it checked out.

Tatze had the same, our vet said he'd take it out when she was spayed, but it fell out before that.

Alfie had this and the vet said it should be fine but to watch for it being split (broken) by the adult tooth and that he would take it out if it wasn't out by the time Alfie was neutered. Alfies fell out about a week after our vet trip.

Same here...Bramble had an adult canine with a baby tooth next to it. The vet said keep an eye on it, and it fell out shortly after :) Worth a quick visit to the vet, I am sure they see this quite a lot and will know the ones to watch through experience :)

Brogan had this too - I left it in and it did eventually fall out but it left his adult tooth permanently stained. Didn't hurt it, but the staining was a bit of a bummer so I always kind of wished I'd gone to the vet about it sooner.

We were given a quote of the same package. We will go ahead and do it at 9 months old.

Xena has what I call a "shark" tooth - an adult tooth growing behind one of her front adult teeth. I keep forgetting to ask the vet about it, but they must have seen it when she went in for her spay and didn't say anything.

Maisie had this, but hers had to be removed as it had become infected. The infection was obvious, the smell was awful!
