    Good morning everyone
Can you advise me, please. Bailey has developed a swollen area inside his bottom eyelid, right eye. He has been playing with Joseph which includes a lot of rough and tumble, but also on Monday, he had a slight scuffle with Elsie! Bailey appears not to be bothered by his eye at all, the eyeball itself has no visible trauma, it's just the lower conjunctiva that is swollen. There are no obvious signs of infection or cuts etc to the conjunctiva. I've not bathed it, just observed. Today, his eye still has the swollen area, it's a slightly darker red, but not any increase in the size of the swelling. He is as happy as a sand-boy, playing, full of life etc, so not appearing unwell in any way. I've not seen this happen in any of my dogs before, and not sure how to proceed. Depending on the situation and problem, I don't go running to the vet, if I think it is something I can treat myself. However, I would be grateful to know if anyone else has experienced this problem, and what I should be doing.

    Many thanks

Hi Katie , I agree re not running to the Vets for very minor things, but as its been a couple of days now , I would let your Vet take a look at Baileys eye . If he has had a tiny cut, it could get infected so maybe he needs some antibiotic drops in there , let us know how he get on and good luck x

Best to make sure I think too. The vet gave us Maxitrol eye drops last time and said ok to keep them and use again if the eye gets irritated again but bring her straight in if that didn't clear it up straight away. Lady was forever getting things poked in her eyes when she was a pup.

Good news! Bailey's eye has much improved today, and there is hardly anything to see. I will keep a close eye on it though, just to make sure he is ok. Thank you for your help and kindness...you are all such lovely and kind people.

Thank you, Rachel...I was worried about my boy, but he seems fine and dandy now.
