my lab in the house and in the car is a perfect dog! But let him in the yard, and he's a different dog. He's totally fine, EXCEPT when he sees a squirrel (chicagoland) when he's in the yard, even if it's another yard or on the line. Can't stop his barking, unless we bring him in. When he goes back out, he'll do his duty, but then it seems to be his only focus to search for squirrels and when he finds them, BARK, BARK, BARK. So we can't seem to let him enjoy the outside. Any suggestions.

Hi, I know how you feel, although with Charlie it was birds ::) He would go into the garden and virtually try to climb trees and bark constantly at them and it drove me insane . So this is what I did and maybe it will work with squirrels too. EVERY time Charlie went into the garden and barked I went out and said NO in a very firm voice, it is soooo tedious but I never let him away with even one bark and now I am happy to say he very rarely barks at birds and when he does I go straight out and say NO. I also in the begining restricted his access to our garden with a gate and he was only allowed out on my terms therefore enabling me to keep on top of it at certain times, now he has full access to the garden. You could give it a try but you must be consistent. Let us know how you get on. x :)

Hi Coby, welcome to the forum.
There have been a few others having success with "Click and Treat" for quiet. not in the exact same situation ;D , but it might be applied in your case too. I'm not an expert in C&T though, so you might be better waiting on some other advise. I have my own problems "proofing" recall with wildlife, and you can't generally speaking magic up a handy squirrel when you need it.
Hope we can collectively come up with some tips though.
