At 11 weeks, Bear is starting to get more focused (able to maintain attention to what he is doing, and even think ahead). This is both good and bad, depending on what he is doing. I watched him today plan the stealing of a sock, planned how to avoid me, before running away with it. In preperation for the "I know it's wrong, but you can't catch me" phase, I have been doing some training. So far he knows, sit, lay, no, drop (sit and lay he is fairly good at now, the other 2 he knows well, but like I said he is at that age, so it depends). Here he is with sit and lay: We are now working on roll, and shake. Cheers, Cameron
Lovely The next step with your sit and lay is to keep the food hidden (eg in your other hand) and use your hand movement and verbal cue only to ask for the sit. Then, when he sits, use your marker word ("good boy") and deliver the treat Then you'll have him sitting to a cue rather than to a food lure.
