Catching up with my post links :)

This one is to an article on bed sharing - should you or shouldn't you. Judging from the reaction on facebook there are even more people sleeping with dogs than I thought :)

Close to my heart this one. I had about three quarters of an inch of space on my bed last night as cold night meant two labradors ( including one skinny but enormously long one described by a vet as one of the biggest male working labs she'd seen)were very very cuddled in for warmth. On the upside I was toasty warm all night surrounded by fur ;D

I had about 2 inches of room (having only one dog) but it was a hot night. Didn't really need a Labrador furnace but neither did I have the heart to throw him off. Maybe I should just be done with it and sleep on the dog bed myself..

A little while ago, we bought a new dog bed for Charlie - for the front room. Charlie refused to vacate OH's armchair. In frustration, OH lies down in Charlie's new bed and declares it very comfortable. Charlie watches OH with interest from the armchair. OH gets up to refill his wine, and Charlie leaps into his new bed before OH gets back. OH gets the armchair - sorted.

So it's not a mad idea to sleep in the dog's bed... ;D ;D ;D

No way would I have Sam in bed or even on it ;) ;)
Not because I think theres anything wrong with a dog on the bed, but given his 38 kilos , there wouldnt be much room left even in a king sized bed ;D

Ah...Obi. So cute and beautiful. That tail looks like it should belong to another animal! So thick! Love it.

I love having Charlie on my bed too - but can't have him sleep on it. I can't live with the dog hairs on my bed. Plus, it doesn't matter how carefully I wipe him, there is always a paw print, or strange mark (best not look too closely at what it might be), left on the linen. Must get a yellow dog, or brown sheets.

But I love it when he gets to jump on my bed to wake me up, and stays for a quick cuddle. Roll on early summer - then he can come up the stairs again to do that. :) :) :)

Funny that. My two also know the difference between OH being at home or away! ;)

And, as an extra special bonus, if they are with me, they are very happy to stay put for a lie-in too...

My dogs have always come up on the bed while I read for a while then gone down into their own beds when I decide to go to sleep .....best of both worlds :)

Re: Bed sharing - should you or shouldn't you?

I brought Harley a new bed 2 days ago as she has grown out of hers. Her bed is on the floor next to my side of the bed. For the past few weeks she sneaks onto our bed in the middle of the night and squashes herself between me and hubby. I thought it might be because her bed was too small, but no, just seems like she wants to be up with us!! Past 2 nights I get awoken by a fidget bum, so I put her back in her bed......I think she waits til I doze off, then jumps back on  I love her cuddling up, but the bed isn't big enough and she's only 5 months old!!

ha Clare thats another reason why I like my two on the bed, when they were in their crates overnight they would start being a bit noisy and 'oi wake upy' by about half 6 in the morning, it could be that they are a bit older now, but since they started sleeping on the bed with me they sleep till I get up, and like a lie in as well!

I feel all left out that i'm boring and insist on the kitchen.

really didn't like sleeping with either of them. i like my space sometimes.

I tried sleeping with one of my German Pointers years ago, but she wanted too much bed :) I don't allow my Labradors upstairs as I want to keep some part of the house hair and mud free! Couldn't stand the thought of all those hairs in the bed.
